Calgary Booster Club Grants for Calgary Athletes

Exciting grant opportunities available for Calgary-based high performance athletes are now open for application.

Bob Freeze Sport Grants

The Bob Freeze Sport Grants will be announced and awarded at the Calgary Booster Club’s annual gala dinner event in April.

A complete application will include the application form, a letter from the applicant's coach and letter from the applicant's parent/guardian. A headshot photo in uniform and an action shot in their sport must be included. Incomplete applications may be declined. Applications can be submitted electronically by email, or by mail (postmarked by Friday, March 1, 2019).

Eligibility Requirements for Individual Awards Application

Grants are based on level of performance and financial need. Applicants should be:

  1. Calgary resident or training within the City of Calgary municipal limits

  2. 16 years old or younger as of Friday, March 1, 2019 

  3. Demonstrated success in a sport, that has at least a provincial and national competition structure 

  4. Financial need will be taken into consideration 3) Competing at high performance national/international competitions

Deadline to apply is Friday, March 1, 2019 

Art Smith Endowment Grants

The Art Smith Amateur Sports Legacy Grants will be announced and awarded at the Calgary Booster Club’s annual gala dinner event in April.

A complete application will include the application form, proof of enrolment, two letters of recommendation to support your application. A headshot photo in uniform and an action shot in your sport must be included. Incomplete applications may be declined. 

Applications can be submitted electronically by email, or by mail (postmarked by Friday, March 1, 2019).

Grants are based on level of performance and financial need. Applicants should be:

  1. Calgary resident, or training within the City of Calgary municipal limits

  2. Successfully competing at a provincial or national level of competition on the verge of moving up to the next level

  3. Competing at high performance national/international competitions

Deadline to apply is Friday, March 1, 2019
